Renaissance AR(Accelerated Reading)

Renaissance Accelerated Reader (AR) is an educational tool designed to help children improve their reading skills and comprehension. Here’s how it works:

1. **Book Selection**: Students choose books that match their reading levels, which are determined through initial assessments. This ensures they are reading at an appropriate difficulty.

2. **Reading Practice**: After finishing a book, students take an online quiz that assesses their understanding and recall of the material. These quizzes vary in difficulty and cover different aspects of the text.

3. **Progress Tracking**: Teachers and parents can track students' progress through reports that show how many books they’ve read, their quiz scores, and overall reading growth. This feedback helps guide future reading choices and goals.

4. **Motivation and Goals**: The program often includes goals for points earned from quizzes, encouraging students to read more and develop a love for reading while also building their skills.

Overall, AR aims to foster independent reading, comprehension, and a lifelong appreciation for literature. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to ask!

The Birthday Book Program

birthday

Birthday Books are a wonderful way to honor your student for their birthday and build our Ripon Elementary School Library at the same time!

Win! Win!

You are welcome to purchase one of the books we have available OR feel free to reach out with book title ideas or suggestions. Please keep in mind that we do only have one of each book available to purchase. For this reason, it is first come first serve.

When purchasing a Birthday Book(s), your child’s name, birthday, and photo will appear in the front cover of the book. Your student will be able to keep the book(s) for TWO WHOLE WEEKS, after which time it will become available for all student’s to check out.

Your student will receive their purchased Birthday Book, on the last Friday of their Birthday month.

Please note the Birthday Book program is designed to expand the Ripon Elementary library with new books.
