Welcome to 7th Grade Math and Science

I'm excited to share my passion for mathematics and science with your student this year. With seven years of teaching experience at Ripon Elementary, I've had the privilege of guiding hundreds of 7th graders as they develop into confident problem-solvers and critical thinkers.

My Goals for Your Student

In my classroom, every student has the potential to succeed in math and science. My primary focus is helping students build confidence in problem-solving and critical thinking while developing the mathematical reasoning skills they'll use throughout their lives. I believe strongly in cultivating a growth mindset, where mistakes become valuable learning opportunities rather than setbacks.

I work to encourage perseverance when students face challenging problems, teaching them that struggle is a natural part of learning. Through classroom discussions and collaborative work, students build communication skills by explaining their thinking and reasoning to peers and teachers alike.

Most importantly, I want every student to see themselves as capable mathematicians and scientists. By connecting our lessons to real-world situations, students discover how the concepts we learn together apply far beyond the classroom walls.
