Library
Welcome to the Ripon Elementary School Library

Our Ripon Elementary school library is a cozy haven of imagination and discovery. The shelves are brimming with books, from timeless classics to the latest young reader novels. Students gather in comfy nooks, whispering excitedly about their latest finds, while our librarian Mrs. Balding, focuses on nurturing their love for reading. The library often hosts events—storytelling sessions, book fairs, and art displays—all with the goal of uniting our students.
It’s more than just a place to borrow books; it’s a cherished space where curiosity thrives and friendships blossom, nurturing a lifelong love of learning.

Renaissance AR(Accelerated Reading)
1. **Book Selection**: Students choose books that match their reading levels, which are determined through initial assessments. This ensures they are reading at an appropriate difficulty.
2. **Reading Practice**: After finishing a book, students take an online quiz that assesses their understanding and recall of the material. These quizzes vary in difficulty and cover different aspects of the text.
3. **Progress Tracking**: Teachers and parents can track students' progress through reports that show how many books they’ve read, their quiz scores, and overall reading growth. This feedback helps guide future reading choices and goals.
4. **Motivation and Goals**: The program often includes goals for points earned from quizzes, encouraging students to read more and develop a love for reading while also building their skills.
Overall, AR aims to foster independent reading, comprehension, and a lifelong appreciation for literature. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to ask!
The Birthday Book Program

Birthday Books are a fun, festive way to celebrate your child’s special day and help grow the Ripon Elementary School Library — a total win-win!
When a Birthday Book is purchased, your child’s name, birthday, and photo shine inside the front cover , and your student gets to be the very first to check it out and enjoy it for two whole weeks, before it’s returned to the library for all students to enjoy. Families can choose from available books at my personal page ( first come, first serve), or send $15 for a book to be hand-picked and ordered just for your child .
Birthday Books are celebrated and distributed on the last Friday of your child’s birthday month .
