Welcome to January!
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful and joyful winter break with your families. There is always a special kind of energy in the building when students return in January—a mix of excitement to see friends and a renewed focus on the goals we set for the second half of the year.
This month, our school-wide focus is on Courageous and Upstanding Citizens. As we dive back into our routines, we are encouraging students to embrace being brave and understand that mistakes are just part of the learning process.

School Highlights & Updates
Winter Weather Reminders: As the temperatures drop, please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat. We try to head outside for recess and PE whenever the weather permits, and we want everyone to stay cozy!
A Note on Attendance
Starting the new year strong begins with consistent attendance. Being at school on time every day helps your child feel prepared and connected to their classroom community. Thank you for your partnership in making education a priority.
Dismissal Procedures:
In order to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, once students are dismissed from their teacher, please promptly find your child and head to your vehicle or designated pick-up area. Students should not be playing football, climbing trees, engaging in gymnastics or other physical activities while waiting for parents or while parents are visiting with one another. Our goal is to maintain a safe and orderly environment for all children at the end of the school day.
Additionally, in order to respect confidentiality and provide our teachers with the time and focus needed to address your questions thoroughly, please schedule a meeting to discuss any academic or behavioral concerns by emailing your child’s teacher. Dismissal time is not an appropriate setting for these important conversations which are encouraged for you to have.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep dismissal time safe, efficient, and respectful for everyone.
Warmly,
Mrs. Rachel Henley
Ripon Elementary School Principal
