Principal Dana Phelps

(209) 599-4225

My name is Dana Phelps.  I have been a Ripon Unified Employee for 24 years. Previously before becoming principal I taught Kindergarten, First, and Second grade at Ripona, Colony Oak , and Ripon Elementary. I received my Teaching Credential at California State University Stanislaus, and my Administrative Credential at Teachers College of San Joaquin County.

Throughout my years of teaching I have developed a passion for early literacy and created early intervention to help struggling readers. I have participated in the organization of the Multi Tiered Support System at the district level, and implemented new programs to foster additional support for our Ripon Elementary students. During my teaching I have been a mentor/coach teacher at different sites and also an instructional leader for many subject areas. I have been an integral part of Student Study Teams and also School Site Councils. I am excited to share some of my teaching talents with the Ripon Elementary staff, students, and parents at the school site.

While being principal at Ripon Elementary I have enjoyed coordinating, planning, and implementing school wide events, and supporting my staff in their teaching practices.  My favorite part of the day is seeing the students on the playground, in the lunchroom, and attending any special student activities that are happening on our campus.

I am fortunate to work in Ripon with such an amazing staff of professionals and wonderful students and parents.  It is an honor to be your Principal this school year.
